Test results for Cordless Drills and Angle Grinders
I wanted to find out if there was any value in upgrading from my 5 year old Ryobi tools to newer brands that advertise themself as being suited to the professional user. So I tested my existing tools to the new high end models on the market. The conclusions were that I could have significant time saving upgrading from my old tools to more professional grade tools. We interestingly found that some tool brands perform better in some categories than other. The Ryobi drills were quite serviceable, but the angle grinders both proved to be inadequate in my testing. The Bosch drill didn’t score very well, but the angle grinder performed fantastically. I also found there appears to be a difference in how one tool stacks up against the competition depending on whether it is cutting or grinding. Milwaukee dominated the cutting by more than 30%, but the Bosch and Fein performed better on some of the grinding tests.
